Director Dillard & Co. had a promising minimalist horror pitch, but blew it in execution. The survivors interpret Jenn’s tales of a monster as stress-induced paranoia. Heartbroken over her parents' breakup and recovering from a car accident, Jane becomes increasingly suspicious of her mother's charming new boyfriend.

Maybe my expectations were just too high because of all the positive buzz it got, but I didn't enjoy Sweetheart overall, just in parts.
